we are getting older! :-(

Rufus turned 9. I had to hold a party for him. He is the most un-assuming, zen, baby boy ever! Gets bamboozled by the bigger boxers and all he can do is whine! Which he does to the best of his ability, even if the injury is about 1%!

 

The party was over before I could complete “Hallelujah”!

Rufus of course, got the lion’s share, under the malevolent eyes of Pari!

Sandy, the dalmatian kept drooling, and Aryan, the other boxer, stared at the cake and chicken unflinchingly. But Pari, the boxer, looked daggers at Rufus and her lips would curl up in a snarl every now and then! Had I not been around, Rufus would have been the main course!

I now have another adoptee! A street cat has adopted us and promptly makes an appearance 3 times a day, meowing away for all she’s worth, till we pay attention and give her food! She always has a wary eye for the 5 of them and stays out of reach, while I keep the dogs behind closed doors.

She too had the birthday cake and enjoyed it thoroughly, by the way she kept smacking her lips repeatedly!

After that heavy meal, it was snooze time!

It was heartening to see Rufus and Aryan snuggling together! As rare as Aurora borealis in the northern hemisphere!

Pluto, the cocker spaniel, wanted company! So that he could snuggle up on the bed with mama! He had bits and pieces of the chicken, but turned his face away for anything else! Brat! Had to feed him……..upon which he had every morsel and licked his lips!
